Helsinki is de hoofdstad van de Republiek Finland. De stad ligt aan de zuidkust van het land aan de Finse Golf tegenover de hoofdstad van Estland: Tallinn. Helsinki is tevens de grootste stad en in veel opzichten het centrum van het land.
Er is zo veel te zien en te doen in hoofdstad Helsinki en directe omgeving, dat ik toch een aantal keuzes zal moeten maken. Zo wil ik zeker pretpark Linnanmäki bezoeken, maar ook nog vele andere plekken zijn zeker het bezoeken waard, zoals b.v. op onderstaande plattegronden te zien is.
