About the city:
Orlando is a major city in the central region of the U.S. state of Florida.
Originally the center of a major citrus-growing region, Orlando is now best known as the home of amusement attractions, including the Walt Disney World Resort, which is located southwest of the city, and the Universal Orlando Resort, which is located inside Orlando. These destinations helped made Orlando the third most visited American city among travelers in the year 2007.
Geographically you can split Orlando into some major regions:
- International Drive, with the Universal Resort and Seaworld
- Lake Buena Vista, with the Walt Disney World Resort
- Kissimmee, to the south of the Disney World Resort
- Downtown Orlando, the original city
Many people think Orlando is only about themeparks, but they are wrong.
Orlando has a great nightlife, with many large movietheaters, bars, disco’s and many fine restaurants, but it is also a great place to shop with it’s many large malls (examples: The Florida Mall, Mall @ Millenia)
Other interessting things you can do in the Orlando area are, Airboat rides, Parasailing etc.
