About The City:
Key West is known as the southernmost city in the Continental United States.
Key West is 129 miles (207 km) southwest of Miami, Florida, (About 160 driving miles) and 106 miles (170 km) north-northeast of Havana, Cuba.
The island Key West is together with about 1700 other small islands, part of the Florida Keys.
The Key West island is connected to some other islands of the Florida Key’s and the mainland of Florida with the 127.5-mile (205.2 km) long “Overseas Highway” (U.S. Route 1).
Some of the bridges used for this “Overseas Highway”, were the original bridges used for the railroad build in 1912.

Key West is a large seaport used by the many cruiseships that visit the carribean. So the island has many hotels and guesthouses avialeble for lodging. But the U.S. Navy also uses the island as a Naval Air Station.
One of the best know things Key West is famous for is the writer Ernest Hemingway. Ernest owned a house on the island from 1931 till his death in 1961. Ernest Hemingway lived and wrote here for more than ten years.
The Ernest Hemingway house is now a museum to visit for everybody.
Another famous thing is the Sunset Celebration @ Mallory Square. Every day around sunset many artists are doing their show.
Many different performers are here each day, like tightrope walkers, gitarists and singers, clowns and escapeartists.
