De stad behoorde tot de Hanze. Wroc\u0142aw is de belangrijkste historische stad van Silezi\u00eb en was de hoofdstad van de Pruisische later Duitse provincie Neder-Silezi\u00eb. Sinds 1999 is Wroc\u0142aw de hoofdstad van het Poolse woiwodschap Neder-Silezi\u00eb. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wroc\u0142aw telt 633.105 inwoners (30 juni 2014), waarmee het de vierde stad van Polen is.
