Het opende op 13 december 1912, met een formele opening een week later, en is sindsdien bijna continu in bedrijf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De belangrijkste historische kenmerken van het park zijn onder meer de iconische &#8220;Mr Moon&#8221;-ingang en flankerende torens (1912, gerestaureerd 1999), de Scenic Railway (1912), de oudste continu werkende achtbaan ter wereld, en de carrousel (1913 gerestaureerd 2000).
