San Marino is known to car (and Ferrari-) enthusiasts through the Formula One Grand Prix of San Marino, which is hosted annually on the Italian circuit of Imola. Apart from this, San Marino is probably not too well known, especially not in distant countries outside Europe. San Marino is Europe\u2019s smallest independent republic, and at the same time it\u2019s one of the oldest in the world.
But San Marino also has one of the worlds the largest publicly displayed collection of Ferrari automobiles in Europe, if not in the world, the Collezione Maranello Rosso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In December 2009 the Collezione Maranello Rosso celebrated the 20th anniversary of its foundation, but sadly, the following month witnessed the passing of its founder, Fabrizio Violati, who departed this mortal coil on 21 January 2010, at the age of 74.
In the collection of Fabrizio are Ferrari’s from 1952 to the 1990’s, with famous cars like the 250GTO and a 512BBLM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They may not be from Maranello, but these cars are certainly rosso! All but half a dozen of the Abarths are racing red.
It’s definitely one of the most impressive Abarth collections in the world.
There to await you is also a collection of 30 Abarths, the largest collection ever opened to the public. It presents the best of the genius of Carlo Abarth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlo Abarth and company built race cars, GTs, race equipment and a phenomenal number of performance exhaust systems between 1949 and that hand-over to Fiat 22 years later. By far the majority were built on Fiat chassis, with Fiat or coachbuilt bodies.
In this Maranello Rosso collection you can find a custom build Abarth race next to a Abarth 500 that’s not looking very special except of the wider front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
