Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is a 335 acre 19th century African-themed park located in Tampa, Florida, which opened on March 31, 1959.
In 1965, the park opened its 29-acre (120,000 m2) Serengeti Plain<\/strong> animal habitat, the first of its kind to offer animals in a free-roaming environment. It is home to the Grevy\u2019s zebra, reticulated giraffe, bongo, addax, addra gazelle, eland, impala, ostrich, marabou stork, East African crowned crane and sacred ibis.
In Bird Gardens<\/strong>, the original section of the park that opened back in 1959. The area for the most part remains to be mostly gardens and animal exhibits\/shows, with birds like ara’s and birds of prey.
Other special animal exibits in the park are Myombe Reserve<\/strong>, with gorillas and chimpanzees, Edge of Africa<\/strong>, a walkthrough attraction with lions, hippos and hyenas. And there are the Curiosity Caverns<\/strong> with animals such as bats, snakes, lizards, tamarins, and sugar gliders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But another large part of the park is for the many shows, thrillrides and rollercoasters.
Busch Gardens Africa is home to the first dive-coaster located in the USA, Sheikra.
Other rollercoasters in the park are Gwazi, a dualing wooden rollercoaster, Kumba, a sitdown multiloop rollercoaster, Montu, an inverted rollercoaster and 2 smaller rollercoasters, Cheetah Chase and Scorpion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park also has some waterrides, the logflume Stanley Falls Flume, a shute-the-shoot Tanganyika Tidal Wave and a rapid river Congo River Rapids.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
